Terms of service

Last updated: January 1, 2026

These terms govern your use of Skilloop (“the Service”). By creating an account, browsing the marketplace, requesting a session, publishing a listing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. By creating an account you confirm that you meet these requirements. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do not.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe someone has used your account, contact skilloop96@gmail.com immediately.

3. Learners

Learners may browse experts and request sessions. You agree to (a) provide accurate topic context when you book, (b) honor the time and topic once the expert accepts, and (c) leave an honest review after the session. Repeated cancellations, misuse of chat, or abusive behavior toward experts will result in account suspension.

4. Experts

Experts must be at least 18 and must pass our application review before activating listings. You agree to (a) respond to booking requests within a reasonable time, (b) honor accepted sessions, (c) deliver on the topic you described in your listing, and (d) refrain from misleading, fraudulent, or harmful content. We reserve the right to revoke your expert status for repeated no-shows, complaints, or policy violations.

5. Payments, refunds, and cancellations

Session payments are processed by Stripe. Funds are held at checkout and released to the expert after the session is marked completed. If an expert declines a request, no session was conducted, or a session was materially different from what was described, the learner may request a full refund from their dashboard. Approved refunds return to the original payment method within 5–10 business days. Skilloop's platform fee is 0% during beta and will be clearly disclosed on the Pricing page before any post-beta change becomes effective.

6. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you publish (profile, listings, reviews, session notes). You grant Skilloop a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote that content on the platform for as long as your account is active. You confirm you have the right to publish everything you post, and that nothing violates someone else's copyright, trademark, or privacy.

7. No warranties

Skilloop is provided 'as is'. We do our best to vet experts, but we do not guarantee any specific learning outcome. Skill development depends on the learner, the expert, and the work done between sessions. Reviews and ratings reflect the experience of individual learners and may not match yours.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skilloop's total liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the amount you paid Skilloop in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 — whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The 'Last updated' date at the top tells you when. If a change is material, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use of Skilloop after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
